From 1-2 September, the World Humanitarian Summit Global Youth Consultation will kick off in Doha, Qatar.

Young people from all over the world will come together and discuss ways to reshape the future of humanitarian action.

The United Nations in Sri Lanka is encouraging Sri Lankan youth to participate in the Global Youth Consultation. Youth can follow the livestream of the event and participate online via Pigeonhole Live, an interactive Q&A tool.

Questions can be sent in for the speakers and youth around the world can vote for their favorite questions. The top voted questions will be answered by the panelists at the event.

The ideas from youth will feed into the first World Humanitarian Summit, an initiative of the United Nations Secretary-General. This global summit on humanitarian action will be held in Istanbul on 23-24 May 2016. The goal of the summit is to bring the global community together to commit to new ways of working together to save lives and reduce hardship around the globe.
