Mahinda invited for 12th Doha Conference

The Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani has extended an invitation to Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa to attend the 12th Doha Conference to be held in Doha.

Ambassador of Qatar in Colombo Sayed Abdullah Al Munsouri has handed over the invitation sent by the Emir of the oil-rich Gulf nation to the President Rajapaksa at Temple Trees.

The President accepting the invitation has thanked Qatar for extending support to Sri Lanka at the Human Rights Council Session in Geneva and has said that it would strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. In response Ambassador Al Mansoori has said that it was their stand to offer support when friends needed support.

The 12th Doha conference will be held from 20 to 22 May 2012.
