Sri Lanka is heading towards a thriving future under the rapid socio-economic development program. President Mahinda Rajapaksa has made many of his visions through Mahinda Chinthana and one of his visions is to make Sri Lanka the wonder of Asia.
As public servants we should contribute not in words but with action to make this vision become a reality, said Minister of Mass Media and Information Keheliya Rambukwella addressing the staff at the Ministry premises yesterday when they commenced work for the New Year taking an oath to serve the people efficiently, productively with firm determination, utmost commitment, honesty, dedication and loyalty to the people.
The Minister also expressed his confidence that all institutions under his Ministry would extend their fullest cooperation to make Sri Lanka become Wonder of Asia when development process is in full swing.
The Management and staff attached to the Media Ministry, Government Information Department and the Government Publication Bureau were present at the occasion and work commenced for the New Year following invoking of the blessings by clergy of all religions.
Secretary to the Ministry of Mass Media and Information Charitha Herath and the Director General of the Government Information Department Prof. Ariyarathna Athugala too addressed the staff.
