Members appointed to Sectoral Oversight Committee on Education and HRD

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya yesterday appointed members to serve on the Sectoral Oversight Committee on Education and Human Resources Development.

As per the resolution adopted by the Parliament on 19 December 2015 and the decision taken by the Committee of Selection on 9 January to increase the number of membership of each Sectoral Oversight Committee to 20, the Committee of Selection has nominated the following members:

State Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government Piyankara Jayaratne, Deputy Minister of Megapolis and Western Development Lasantha Alagiyawanna, JVP MP Nihal Galappaththi, UPFA MP Gamini Lokuge, UNP MP Sirinal de Mel, UPFA MP Dr. Ramesh Pathirana, ITAK MP Seeniththamby Yoheswaran, ITAK MP S. Shritharan, UNP MP Thushara Indunil Amarasena, UNP MP Velu Kumar, JVP MP Dr.Nalinda Jayathissa, UNP MP Sujith Sanjaya Perera, UNP MP Muhammad Ibrahim Muhammad Mansoor, UNP MP Prof.Ashu Marasinghe, UNP MP Mujibur Rahuman, UPFA MP Angajan Ramanathan, UNP MP Mrs.Rohini Kumari Wijerathna, ITAK MP Gnanamuthu Srineshan, UNP MP Chathura Sandeepa Senaratne, and UNP MP Wijepala Hettiarachchi.(AH)
