Milinda mayoral candidate for CMC

United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) has named Senior Advisor to the President and former Justice Minister Milinda Moragoda as the mayoral of candidate for the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) at the upcoming local government elections.

UPFA General Secretary Susil Premajayanth said the decision to nominate Moragoda was taken following a meeting held on Sunday.

Moragoda had served as Minister of Justice and Law Reform, Minister of Tourism, Minister for Economic Reform, Science and Technology and Deputy Minister for Plan Implementation and Development in earlier administrations.

Moragoda lost his re-election bid to the Parliament at the April 2010 general elections.
