Colombo: The External Affairs Ministry of Sri Lanka has directed the country’s missions in Europe to keep a close watch on the activities of LTTE front organisations in their respective countries.

The Ministry has issued the directive following the controversial release of postal stamps depicting LTTE images in several countries where pro-LTTE organisations have tried to continue with the propaganda through stamps.

A spokesperson for the Ministry has been quoted in the media as saying that LTTE front organisations have misused the facility made available by the postal services in some foreign countries where their citizens could obtain personalised postal stamps as souvenirs.

The LTTE postal stamps have been issued in France and the United Kingdom where the terrorist organisation is banned.
