Sri Lanka’s Muslim population does not advocate separatism or any kind of separatism and are vehement protectors of the peace, Senior Minister A.H.M. Fowzie asserted yesterday. “The Muslims do not have links with terrorist groups or the al-Qaeda,” he told a news conference yesterday. Minister Fowzie said Islam was a peaceful religion. “The Muslims are constantly striving to protect the peace brought to us by President Mahinda Rajapaksa,” he said.
