New Bribery Commission Director General

Additional Solicitor General Sarath Jayamanne has been appointed as the new Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), the President’s Media Division said.

He received his appointment letter from the President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday.

The position of Director General became vacant after former Dilrukshi Dias Wickramasinghe tendered her resignation on 17 October.

Jayamanne is a President’s Counsel and sixth in seniority at the Attorney General’s Department. He has been serving the Department for over 25 years.

Jayamanne has received a B.Sc. in Forensic Science from University of Sri Jayewardenepura and M. Sc. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Oxford University. He has a Diploma in Forensic Medicine from University of Colombo.
