New Economic Deputy Minister Chandrasena assumes duties

S.M. Chandrasena assumed duties as the new Deputy Minister to the Economic Development Ministry yesterday at his office in Govi Jana Mandiraya, Battaramulla.

New Deputy Minister Economic Development S.M. Chandrasena, who arrived in the Battaramulla office to assume duties, was warmly welcomed by staff members in the Govi Jana Mandiraya office, several ministers and senior Government officials. A religious observation was held to invoke blessings to the newly appointed Economic Deputy Minister before he assumed duties.

Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa, Agriculture Minister Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, Water Supply and Drainage Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, Child Development and Women’s Affairs Minister Tissa Karaliyadda, Coconut Development and Janata Estate Development Minister Jagath Pushpakumara, North Central Province Chief Minister S.M. Ranjith, Deputy Ministers Chandrasiri Sooriyaarachchi and Weerakumara Dissanayaka were at the ceremony.
