New Sri Lanka Air Force Commander assumes duties

The 13th Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama relinquished his command Thursday and retired from the Sri Lanka Air Force with effect from 28 February, the Air Force said. On his retirement, Air Marshal Abeywickrama was promoted to the rank of Air Chief Marshal. His replacement Air Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke assumed duties as the 14th Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force at the Air Force Headquarters last morning. Air Marshal Gunatilleke, a product of prestigious Royal College in Colombo, was the former Chief of Staff and Director Air Operations of the Air Force.
