Nominations for WPC and SPC polls to commence on 30 January

Polls Chief to announce elections date when nominations close on 6 February.
Nominations for the Western and Southern Provincial Councils will be accepted between 30 January and 6 February, Polls Chief Mahinda Deshapriya annnounced yesterday.
The Elections Secretariat announced that the Gazette notification in this regard would be issued yesterday.
Elections Commissioner Deshapriya will decide the date of the Southern and Western Provincial Council polls after midday on 6 February, after the nominations period closes.
