Pakistan’s Defence Adviser calls on Chief of Defence staff, Army Commander

The Defence Advisor of Pakistan in Sri Lanka, Colonel Sheharyar Parvez Butt called on the newly appointed Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of Sri Lanka Army. Defence Advisor congratulated both decorated officers on assuming their new and challenging appointments. Matters related to mutual interest between both countries were discussed. The opportunity was also utilised to focus on future initiatives and actions that would assist in diversifying association between Armed Forces of Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Since independence, Sri Lanka and Pakistan have consistently maintained close, cordial and mutually supportive relations especially in the field of defence. Both nations have assisted each other during testing times in their histories. Pakistan and Sri Lanka have comprehensive and mutually beneficial training collaboration for Army, Navy and Air Force.
