Panel discussion on ‘Increasing the Role of Women in Media’

The Sri Lanka Press Institute (SLPI) in 2011 commissioned a study titled ‘An Assessment of Female Participation in Mainstream Media.

It was the country’s first comprehensive study on the participation of females in media and as a follow up to this report, the SLPI is organising a panel discussion on ‘Increasing the Role of Women in Media’ on Friday, 20 January from 10a.m. -12 noon in the SLPI Auditorium, 96, Kirula Road Colombo-05.

The panellists include SLPI Chairman and moderator of the discussion Kumar Nadesan, Minister of Mass Media and Information Keheliya Rambukwella, Ceylon Today Editor Hanna Ibrahim, National Council for the Training of Journalists – UK CEO Joanna Butcher, Capital Maharaja Organisation Manager – Training and Development Chethana Liyanage and Derana News and Current Affairs Director Shehan Baranage.
