Pathfinder Foundation to hold public seminar on northern development

As the Government’s development strategy is placing high priority on the Northern and Eastern Provinces, the Pathfinder Foundation (PF), is organising a public seminar on “Watering the north and east - Facilitating inclusive development”. This public seminar will be held at the BMICH Committee Room E on 20 November 2013 from 9:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The main presentation will be made by Mahaweli Consultancy Bureau Consultant (Irrigation Engineer) K.A. Upali Imbulana. Imbulana’s presentation will mainly focus on the policy reforms and recommendations required to provide water and facilitate development in the said provinces. Other presentations will be made by Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, University of Jaffna Dr. S.S. Sivakumar, Distance Learning Centre Ltd. Chief Executive Officer Nishantha Kamaladasa and Senior Lecturer, Department of Geography, University of Jaffna S. Raveendran.  After these presentations the floor will be open for an in depth discussion on relevant issues and policy recommendations to be made to the government. This session will be chaired by The Pathfinder Foundation Deputy Chairman Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy. Simultaneous translation to Sinhala and Tamil will be provided at the seminar.
