People in Musali had faith in Govt. despite rampant bogus propaganda: Basil

Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa stated that Musali area can be regarded as an area which has a section of people who had unwavering faith in the Government even when certain people were carrying out bogus propaganda against the Government. The Minister further stated that the Government led by the President had taken steps to reconstruct roads, electricity, housing, schools, etc. in the Musali area, which had been destroyed by the terrorists, while participating at the ceremony held to declare open the new building of the Musali Pradeshiya Sabha, constructed under Uthuru Wasanthaya program. Minister Rajapaksa further stated that he reached this area infested with death traps with great difficulty with the assistance of the Navy and Air Force and development activities were carried out in a systematic manner. “Action was taken to build bridges across Modara Ganaru and Malwathuoya connecting the north and the south and the balance of the road will be completed in keeping with wildlife regulations. All this is possible due to the creation of peaceful environment by the President, irrespective of race, creed and religion, after defeating terrorism,” he said. He further stated that Tamils and Muslims were resettled in these areas after eradicating terrorism irrespective of race, creed and religion and it was heartening to note that development activities were being carried out by them in the area. Minister Rishard Bathiudeen stated that the President and Minister Rajapaksa were rendering yeomen service towards the development of this area and the grateful people of the area were well aware of and satisfied about the development efforts of the Government. Minister Bathiudeen, Members of Parliament N. Farook and B. Farook, Chairman of Musali Pradeshiya Sabha and members of the Pradeshiya Sabha, Governor of the Northern Province General G.A. Chandrasiri, Pakistan High Commissioner Cassim Kunji and a host of people’s representatives were among the large gathering of well wishers on this occasion.
