People’s Bank commemorates International Women’s Day meaningfully

People’s Bank commemorated the International Women’s Day in a meaningful manner by introducing a novel savings product - Vanitha Vasana Money Planner Investment Plan Account, thus recognising and paying its tributes to the women for the invaluable contribution they make towards shaping the country’s socio-economic landscape. The launching ceremony of this exciting new account was held recently at Sethsiripaya, Battaramulla under the auspices of People’s Bank CEO/GM N. Vasantha Kumar. For the benefit of the large number of women customers gathered at this special ceremony, two specialist doctors, Dr. Ranil Jayawardane and Dr. Dilini Samarakoon made useful presentations while well known beautician, Shiromi Priyadharshani conducted a special workshop on beauty culture. Customers can open these special savings account during the period of 8 March to 8 April, which has been named as ‘Vanitha Vasana Month’ by choosing three savings options; Rs. 25,000, Rs. 50,000 or Rs. 100,000 investment plans. Accordingly, a customer can enrol in the primary scheme by making an initial deposit of just Rs. 2,320 and pay Rs. 2,000 each in the subsequent months during the year. What’s more, this special investment plan attracts a handsome 40% bonus interest. In addition to the above, holders of the Money Planner Investment Plan Account will also benefit from the proposed contributory pension plan, which will entitle them to a fixed monthly income when the said scheme is eventually implemented. Customers who successfully complete the payment plan will also receive an opportunity to apply for festival advances at concessionary rates of interest, thus affording them yet another invaluable benefit.
