United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Navanethem Pillay has encouraged Dr. Prathibha Mahanamahewa as the Dean of the Law School to conduct more human rights educational programs and publish articles on human rights.
The visiting UN Human Rights Commissioner made these remarks while participating in a meeting with the representatives of Sri Lanka Human Commission which was held last morning. “The UN High Commissioner was happy with the work done by Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) and urged addressing the areas of women rights and trauma. Finally, she agreed to assist HRCSL in future activities over the development of human rights,” Human Rights Commissioner Dr. Prathibha Mahanamahewa said.
