Police sign MOU with Interpol

Sri Lanka Police have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Interpol, the Police Media Unit said.

Inspector General of Police, N. K. Illangakoon and Secretary General of Interpol Jürgen Stock signed the Memorandum of Understanding on 4 November in Kigali, Rwanda during the Annual International Police Conference which was attended by the Heads of the police representing many countries.

The agreement aims to facilitate the Interpol officials and the law enforcement officers engaged in cross border investigations to obtain emergency visas by recognising the special travel permit issued by the Interpol.
