Political leaders in stamps in Parliament

Commemorative Postage Stamps of all political leaders of the country, beginning from Rt.Hon.D.S. Senanayake, First Prime Minister, were unveiled at the Library of Parliament on Thursday by Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa. “Remembering these past leaders would instill in us a sense of pride, specially  to the younger generation who visit Parliament in large numbers these days” the Speaker said. He told the   Acting Secretary General. Neil Iddawela, to arrange the whole portrait to be kept at the public entrance of the Parliament for   schoolchildren to see and educate themselves of the lives and times of these great national heroes, who contributed so much for the good of the nation during the period of their  service through the Legislature. Ministers Bandula Gunewardena,  Vas-udeva Nanayakkara, Deputy Minister Gitanjana Gune-wardena, MPS A.H.M. Azwer, Sajith Prem-adasa, Y.G. Pathmasiri,  Shehan Semasinghe, Asst. Secretary General,  Mrs.Kushani Rohanadheera, PMG   D. L. P. Rohana Abeyratne, Librarian C. Kuruppu and staff of Parliament were present on the occasion.
