Polls chief issues orders to seize vehicles

Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya has issued orders to the police to seize State vehicles used by former Parliamentarians.

Deshapriya had issued the orders after he met secretaries of political parties at the Department of Elections yesterday.

The Elections Commissioner has said that several former Parliamentarians who are in the Government are still using State vehicles for election work.

He has instructed the police to begin taking action against such former Parliamentarians from tomorrow. (Colombo Gazette)
