PRECIFAC clears Keheliya

The Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges (PRECIFAC)  yesterday announced it has released former Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella from the alleged case regarding a nonpayment owed to the Independent Television Network (ITN).   

The Commission added he could be a witness of the investigations conducted by the PRECIFAC over the case if needed. 

PRECIFAC recorded statements from both Rambukwella and former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, and the former was questioned by the Commission on Thursday.

The allegation was a non-payment of Rs. 115 million for political advertisements broadcast by the ITN during the 2015 presidential election period.
