President calls for speedy land identification in north for resettlement of displaced people

President Maithripala Sirisena has advised the relevant officials to finish the process of identifying lands for the resettlement of the displaced people in the north by Friday, June 03.

The President gave these instructions during a special meeting held Monday (30) at the President’s Office on the resettlement of displaced people in north and east.

The President further instructed the authorities to finish showing the lands for resettlement before the end of next month.

Secretary to the President P.B. Abeykoon, Defence Secretary Karunasena Hettiarachchi, Secretary to the Lands Ministry I.H.K. Mahanama, ministry secretaries, Tri-Forces Commanders and other senior officials participated in the meeting.
