President congratulates first directly-elected President of Czech Republic

President Mahinda Rajapaksa has sent a congratulatory message to the new President of the Czech Republic, Milos Zeman.

“Your victory is a manifestation of the trust and confidence you enjoy among the people of the Czech Republic,” President Rajapaksa wrote to the Czech President. “As the first directly-elected President of your country, I am confident that the Czech Republic will progress into an era of enhanced growth and prosperity under your leadership.”

President Rajapaksa said he particularly looks forward to expanding economic cooperation between Sri Lanka and the Czech Republic.
