President highlights education for sustainable development

President Maithripala Sirisena has highlighted the importance of education as an essential tool for the future of the country as well as to build a complete human being.

The President further said that all the investments and contributions toward the education of children were a great service to the country’s future. He made these remarks while addressing a ceremony organised to grant scholarships to children of low-income families held at the President’s House this week.

These scholarships were presented to 500 children under the sponsorship of the Dinesh Weerakkody Foundation.
