President leads National Drug Policy debate in P’ment

President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday attended Parliament and participated in the debate on National Drugs Policy Bill. Addressing Parliament, Sirisena said even though he also attempted bring this policy as the then Health Minister, he did not succeed. Presenting this to Parliament during the 100-day program is satisfactory, he added.   Minister of Health and Indigenous Medicine Dr. Rajitha Senaratne tabled the National Medicine Regulatory Authority Bill that will implement the National Medicinal Drugs and Devices Policy based on Prof. Senaka Bibile’s Essential Medicines Concept.
