President Returns from Russia

President Mahinda Rajapaksa who visited Russia to attend the St. Petersburg Economic Forum as an observer returned to the country yesterday morning.

President’s Media Director General Bandula Jayasekara said that during his stay he held talks with world leaders who attended the Forum. President held bilateral talks with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Chinese President Hu Jintao. He also had discussions with Prime Minister of Spain Luis Zapatero.

President Rajapaksa during his three day visit was accompanied by External Affairs Minister Prof G.L. Pieris, Secretary to President Lalith Weeratunga and the Governor, Central Bank Ajith Nivard Cabraal.
