President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday issued instructions suspending police transfers with immediate effect.
The President’s Media Division yesterday announced that the President took this decision after stating that these transfers would be decided by a special three-member committee comprising the Presidential Secretary, Law and Order Ministry Secretary and the Police Chief.
