Presidential Secretariat briefs diplomats on 19A

The Presidential Secretariat hosted an event titled ‘19A: Landmark of Democratic Revival’ on 16 June at Hilton Residences. The event was a panel discussion and Q&A to brief the diplomatic community of Sri Lanka on the 19th Amendment.

Former Under-Secretary to the UN Jayantha Dhanapala made the Keynote Speech, and speeches by Prof. Savitri Gooneskere and Nobel Prize Laureate Prof. Mohan Munasinghe followed. 

Shiral Lakthilaka of the Anti-Corruption Front, who is also the Coordinating Secretary to the President, made the concluding remarks and Harindra B. Dassanayake, the Head of Research and International Media of the Presidential Secretariat, concluded the event with a vote of thanks. 

Secretary to the President P.B Abeykoon, foreign Ambassadors, country representatives of international organisations, diplomats and Head of United Nations missions were present at the event.
