Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe left the country yesterday to the US where he will lecture and take up studies at the MIT.
During his absence, the UNP’s Leadership Council-led by Karu Jayausriya will oversee party’s affairs. MP John Amaratunga will be the Leader of the Opposition until the return of Wickremesinghe.
