Ranil Wickramasinghe yesterday alleged that the Government was preparing to submit a document to the Human Rights Commission in Geneva, which it had not presented to the Sri Lankan Parliament.
Delivering a special statement in Parliament, the Opposition Leader declared that the document in question should have been presented to parliament first, as both government and opposition representatives are attending the UNHRC session.
“Presenting the document in Geneva without presenting to parliament is a breach of privileges of the country’s parliamentarians,” Wickramasinghe alleged.
