Leader of Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake says that Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe should not be targeted over the current controversy on the 19th Amendment to the Constitution. Dissanayake has told the media that comments should not be made against Wickremesinghe stating the 19th Amendment is a “constitutional coup” planned by him. He explained that the powers vested with the Prime Minister in the 19th Amendment will be with the Premier elected after the next general election. “It will be decided by the people. They will decide who should hold the post of Prime Minister,” Dissanayake has said.
