Ratwatte passes away

Former Deputy Defence Minister during President Chandrika Kumaratunga’s administration General Anuruddha Ratwatte has passed away last morning at Kandy Hospital.

The 73-year-old former Minister of Power and Energy had been hospitalised after a fall in his home in Anniyawatte. He was on a life support system at the ICU for head injuries received from the fall.

General Ratwatte is the father of current Kandy District ruling party Parliamentarian Lohan Ratwatte.
