Reginald Cooray takes oaths as new governor of Northern Province

Former Minister Reginald Cooray was sworn in as the Governor of the Northern Province before President Maithripala Sirisena on Sunday (14) at the President’s official residence.

His appointment will be effective from 16 February.

Cooray was a former Chief Minister of the Western Province and a former Parliamentarian and a Cabinet Minister. He is a member of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.
