Responsibility of all to eliminate fear and mistrust among communities: MS

“It is the responsibility of all of us to eliminate the fear and mistrust among every community and to build trust between them,” said President Maithripala Sirisena participating in the Ifthar Ceremony at Temple Trees on Monday.

A large number of Islamic religious leaders and devotees attended the ceremony.

They commended President Sirisena’s commitment to reconciliation. The religious leaders also invoked blessings for national reconciliation in the country.

Addressing the gathering the President emphasised on the importance of holding events of this nature to strengthen national reconciliation.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, A.H.M. Fowzie and Rishad Bathiudeen were also present at the ceremony.
