Rs. 350 m for Sooryabala Sangramaya

Cabinet this week approved a proposal by Power and Renewable Energy Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya to use 75% of funds allocated in Budget 2017 to convert buildings of public institutions to green energy sources to be utilised under the Sooryabala Sangramaya campaign. 

The Budget allocated Rs. 350 million under this budget line and the Minister got approval this week to use part of this fund for installing solar power systems for selected Government hospitals in all districts. The remaining 25% is for other selected public institutions.
