Official data provided by various government institutions indicate that the government has implemented more than 72,000 projects to raise the living standards of the rural community.

People of the South, North, and the East have largely benefited from these projects and hitherto neglected many rural villages have become vibrant with these projects.

People have accrued these benefits through projects implemented under Gama Neguma, Maga Neguma, Gami Diriya, Negenahira Navodaya, Uthuru Wasanthaya and similar programmes covering provinces and regions.

Many villages have got bridges facilitating the people in these villages to transport their products to the nearby towns.  In the meantime those who produce tea, rubber, cinnamon, arecanut, pepper, etc. have become financially strengthened due to efforts made by the government to find the highest prices for these products.
