Second phase of Divi Naguma national programme begins

The second phase of Divi Naguma National Programme commenced yesterday (27) at Biyagama, Obawaththa, Heiya-nthuduwa in Wasantha Kumuduni’s home garden at the auspicious time of 9.59 a.m. under the patronage of Minister of Economic Deve-lopment Basil Rajapaksa.

Divi Naguma National programme was lunched to established one million domestic economic units.

The main objective of the project is to uplift the living standard of families, to improve their nutrition level and ensure food safety while minimising the cost of living. The project also enables the families to generate an extra income.  First phase of the Divi Naguma Prgramme completed in successful manner. The aim of the second phase is to increase the domestic economic units to 2100000.

Deputy Minister of Disaster Management Dulip Wijesekara, Western Provincial Council Member Sisira Jayakody, Western Provincial Council Member Shalitha Wijesundara, Secretaries of Ministries and Government officials also participated at this occasion.
