Senior US State Dept. official in town

US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South Asia Atul Keshap will arrive in Colombo today, for meetings with top Government officials and civil society representatives. Keshap, who works closely with Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Nisha Biswal, will meet Minister of External Affairs G.L. Peiris and Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa during his visit, the Daily FT learns. The Deputy Assistant Secretary will also hold discussions with political leaders, civil society representatives and members of the business community in Colombo. (DB)
