Shashi further remanded till 4 March

Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya yesterday further remanded Shashi Weerawansa, the wife of former Minister Wimal Weerawansa, until 4 March when she was produced in court. The Criminal Investigation Department (CIS) of the police requested the Magistrate to order managers of 19 banks to allow the CID to probe Mrs. Weerawansa’s bank accounts. The CID also told the court that her two passports and identity documents are still in her possession and requested the court to confiscate the documents. The court earlier banned her from traveling abroad.
