Siyambalapitiya irked by absence of officials for Deyata Kirula meeting

De Silva Minister of Information and Technology Ranjith Siyambalapitiya was irked by the absence of officials who could take a decission at the weekly progress meeting of the ninth Deyata Kirula Development Exhibition held at the District Secretariat in Matara yesterday. “It is imperative that every ministry is represented by at least an additional secretary together with an official who is familiar with the District of Matara,” he reiterated. It was only last week that Minister of Youth Affairs and Skills Development Dullas Alahapperuma instructed Secretary to the Minister of Information and Technology Ghotabaya Jayarathna to send out a written request to the effect. “The preparations for the ninth Deyata Kirula Development Exhibition scheduled to be held next year is behind schedule. His Excellency the President is very keen that the Deyata Kirula at Matara is held on schedule as it is going to be a very crucial year,” continued Minister Siyambalapitiya possibly hinting on elections to come.
