A special cargo plane carrying relief goods for the Sri Lankan flood victims from Pakistan arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport Katunayake last week.
The Pakistani cargo plane brought the 3rd consignment of relief good containing medicine, raincoats, rain boots, mosquito replants, shelters and tents which were identified by the Sri Lankan authorities as immediate requirements for the flood victims.
The Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka Dr. Sarfraz Ahmed Khan Sipra handed over the third consignment of relief assistance to the Ministry of Disaster Management Sri Lanka.
The consignment was received on behalf of the Sri Lankan Government by the Secretary of the Ministry of Disaster Management S.S. Miyanawala at the Bandaranaike International Airport Katunayake.
The first and second consignments of relief items containing generators, shelters, tents, medicines, etc. were handed over by the High Commissioner of Pakistan Maj. Gen. (R) Syed Shakeel Hussain to the Sri Lankan authorities 23 and 25 May respectively.
