SLBC journalist killed in road accident

Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) Director Nooraniyas Hassan was killed and six other employees injured on Thursday following an accident in Rambewa, Anuradhapura.



They were travelling to Jaffna to organise the New Year celebrations sponsored by the SLBC.

Hassan was Director Muslim Services and Fri FM – Eastern, Kanthuratta channel. He joined SLBC in 1990 as an administrator and cricket announcer. He has written three Tamil books on the topic of the history of cricketer Muthaiya Muralitharan and Ashriya to Lahoor. He worked at Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd’s Tamil daily Thinakaran in 1989 as well.
