SLFP sets up committee to study UNHRC report

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) has set up a committee to study the UN report on Sri Lanka, presented at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) session in Geneva on Wednesday (16).

General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, Minister Duminda Dissanayake, said the party appointed a committee to study the UN report on Sri Lanka and submit a report on it.

The party will announce its stand on the UN Report based on the recommendations of the committee, he said. The committee is expected to meet next week and it will submit the opinion of the party on the report. He announced that the SLFP Central Committee took a decision to protect those who dedicated their services to safeguard the sovereignty of the country.
