SLFP to sack party local councilors who voted against budget

Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) has decided to sack all the party councilors who voted against the budget of local administration bodies controlled by ruling alliance.



The decision has been taken by the executive committee that met on the 20th under the patronage of the party leader President Mahinda Rajapaksa. Minister S.M. Chandrasena has made the proposal in this regard and Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi has seconded it.

MP Namal Rajapaksa has also pointed out facts related to the defeat of the budget of Sooriyaweva Pradeshiya Sabha.

The budget of the Embilipitiya Urban Council was defeated the following day this decision was taken. The SLFP Vice Mayor of the Urban Council also voted against the budget proposed by the coalition party Jathika Hela Urumaya representative Buddhist monk Mayor Wevelduwe Gnanaprabha.
