The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) and the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) have had talks on the 13th Amendment to the constitution, an SLMC spokesman said. The talks were held last night with the participation of delegations led by TNA leader R. Sampanthan and SLMC leader Minister Rauf Hakeem. The SLMC is not part of the government side appointed to the Parliament Select Committee (PSC) which has been tasked to formulate proposals on constitutional reforms. The TNA has meanwhile indicated it may not name representatives to the opposition side for the PSC. A decision on the issue is expected today. Among the constitutional reforms to be proposed by the PSC are changes to the 13th Amendment to the constitution. (Colombo Gazette)
