Speaker holds discussions with Aung San SuuKyi

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya conducted a diplomatic meeting with Myanmar Foreign Minister Aung San SuuKyi to discuss several areas which will beneficial for both countries.

Following an invitation by SuuKyi, Speaker Jayasuriya visited Myanmar last week to hold bilateral discussions to strength the friendship of two countries.

Speaker Jayasuriya put forward the importance of empowering parliamentary, religious, cultural and economic relations with Myanmar at the meeting.

Minister SuuKyi accepted the invitation of President Maithripala Sirisena to visit Sri Lanka conveyed by the Speaker.
