Sri Lanka and El Salvador establish diplomatic ties

The Government of Sri Lanka and the Government of El Salvador established diplomatic relations with effect from 10 December 2012 upon the signing of a joint communiqué by Karunatilaka Amunugama, Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs of Sri Lanka and Ruben Ignacio Zamora, Ambassador of El Salvador to India in Colombo.

The establishment of diplomatic ties between Sri Lanka and El Salvador will enhance the existing friendly relations and cooperation in the political, socio-economic and cultural fields for the mutual benefit of the two countries.
