Sri Lanka embassy in Saudi Arabia drafts Vision 2020

The Sri Lankan embassy in Saudi Arabia, in consultation with the Sri Lankan community there, identified certain areas where improvements could be achieved. 

In order to align itself with these goals, suitable Vision and Mission statements were agreed upon and the Vision 2020 project was initiated by the Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Azmi Thassim to make these statements a reality.

Trade and commerce, FDIs, bilateral and multilateral relations, the promotion of travel and tourism, Information Technology, employment and human resource development, welfare development, education development and cultural integration and promotion were identified as areas which could be developed.

The Sri Lankan community in Saudi Arabia worked with the embassy staff to draw up implementation plans for achieving the objectives of this project. These plans are detailed in the Vision 2020 booklet.
