Sri Lanka – Palestine sign two agreements

Two bilateral agreements were signed between Sri Lanka and Palestine at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday.

The two agreements were signed following bilateral talks between President Mahinda Rajapaksa and his Palestinian counterpart, Mahmud Abbas, who is currently on a two-day official visit to Sri Lanka.

The two countries signed an agreement for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income between Sri Lanka and the State of Palestine.

A Protocol on Political Consultations between the Ministry of External Affairs of Sri Lanka and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Palestine were also signed. Two bilateral agreements were signed by Minister of External Affairs Prof. G.L. Peris and Palestinian Foreign Minister Dr. Riyad Al- Maliki.
