Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner receives warm welcome from Hounslow Mayor and MP Seema Malhothra

Mayor of London of the Borough of Hounslow Councillor Ajmer Grewal warmly welcomed the Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Hounslow, as a gesture of goodwill. Hounslow is home to many Sri Lankans. This social gathering was held at Mayor’s Office of London (Borough of Hounslow), Civic Centre, Lampton Road, Hounslow, on 19 November. This occasion was attended to by several local MPs and Councillors from Hounslow.

The Sri Lankan Deputy High Commissioner Sugeeswara Gunarathna and Councillor Pathirathna graced this occasion.

Three parliamentarians present at this welcome occasion were Seema Malhothra (MP for Feltham and Heston), Ruth Cadbury (MP for Brentford and Isleworth), and Rupa Hug (MP for Ealing Central and Acton).

Among the other guests who graced this occasion were Lord Sardar Singh of Tutbury in the Hounslow Chamber of Commerce and Stephen Fry, Chief Executive Officer of the Hounslow Chamber of Commerce.

Former Leader of the Hounslow Council Jugdish Sharma, Former Former Mayor Pritham Grewal, Former Deputy Mayor Bishnu Gurung, and Khalid Malik also participated.

The Hounslow Janahanda Foundation sponsored this gathering and representatives from the Foundation including the President Srilal Dias, Patron Surya Samaraweera, Shiran Almeida, and Manoja Almeda along with Nilantha Munasinha, Anuruddha, Thilak, and journalist and film producer Nandana Weerarathna participated at this event.
